Camping in Woodstock, NH

The day we arrived in Woodstock was sunny and bright. The girls all went for a tractor ride. They had a lot of fun together. Then it rained. We were in such a beautiful mountain spot and couldn't see any of them with all the clouds and rain.
On Monday, we took a ride over to Clarks Trading Post. It was sunny and bright and we all had so much fun. The rock climbing wall was one of the highlights. Half way through the bear show, the sky opened up and buckets of rain came down.

We did finally get a fire going one night. It did sprinkle and was difficult to keep going but it finally felt a bit like camping.
With all the rain we had (flooding, high winds, etc.) we decided to pack up two days early. It was nice to sleep in our own comfy beds again.

Kayaking with friends

Out with friends on Embden Pond. It was so windy. There were some pretty big waves. It took us quite a while heading out but we were back in no time.

Another great day on the river. We headed
out right from our own backyard and paddled
down to Madison. The kids took some time
playing with the clay in the bank of the river.
A little further down, the cows enjoyed watching
us as much as we enjoyed watching them.

We bought a tandem kayak today. Now we can all go out and enjoy the river.
After a little lesson in timing and coordination, things went smoothly.
The kids were way ahead of us in no time.
Having them out there came in handy for me, when I just wanted a little break in paddling.
It was a great time. I am so glad we can all go together now.
